Bonus Newsletter: Sharing a Patient Engagement Opportunity

We hope you are having a great summer. Although we do not have a new podcast episode to release right now, we wanted to share some information about a patient engagement opportunity that may be of interest to you in the meantime.
We are seeking 4 to 6 patient partners to join us in a research project led by your podcast host, Anna Chudyk in the College of Pharmacy at the University of Manitoba. Please read on for more information and see the poster below for a broad overview of this engagement opportunity.
Study Title: Approaches to building patient-oriented research capacity: Exploring facilitators and barriers to being a patient partner
Study Aim:
Our research group is conducting a study to better understand the barriers and facilitators to being a patient partner.
Need for Patient Partners:
We are looking for 4 to 6 patient partners to help us co-analyze previously collected interview data about the barriers and facilitators to the patient partner role.
Eligibility Requirements for Patient Partners:
Adults (18 years or older)
Living in Canada
Prior experience (in the last 5 years) as a patient/caregiver partner (e.g., advisor, collaborator) on a Strategy for Patient Oriented Research project/opportunity
Can speak, read, and write in English
Access to a computer or tablet with a working camera and internet
Timeline:
5 virtual group meetings and 1 independent task from approximately August to October 2024
10 to 12 hours estimated total time commitment.
All activities for this study will be held online.

This study has been approved by the Bannatyne Campus Research Ethics Board at the University of Manitoba. Patient partners will be compensated for engaging in this work
